Getting started

What to digitize first: a simple 30-day plan

If you are not sure where to begin, this is the order we usually suggest.

Digitization projects stall when the scope is too big or nobody owns the result. A short, focused plan avoids both.

Week 1: choose one process

Pick the procedure that causes the most chasing, such as document approval, defect follow-up or sample tracking. Write down the steps as they really happen, including the workarounds.

Week 2: agree the workflow

Decide what changes and what stays. Keep your numbering, approval levels and forms wherever they work. Name the owner of each step.

Week 3: run it live with a small group

Put one team on the system. Collect their complaints honestly. Most of the useful changes come from here.

Week 4: adjust and extend

Fix what the team found, then roll out to the next group. Only after that, choose the second process.
